Pre-Christian Irish lore holds that the "Tuatha De Danaan" or earth spirits went "under the hill" (disappeared from general sight) when the new religion took the emphasis off of man's interdependence with nature. Only children, and those who believe natural magic, can catch a fleeting glimpse of them. They are still here, just unseen. It is foretold that they will reappear when mankind realizes that thy have depleted nature to the point where we are in danger of losing our home on this planet. This song and the book "The Age of Rowan" are my method of retelling this story and citing its influence on the life and work of my wife and myself.
