From the recording CHEAD MILLE FAILTE = A Hundred Thousand Welcomes
I wrote this song to honor my Irish immigrant grandparents. The lyrics came from their stories of the journey to "Amerika" and their struggle to begin again here. I particularly remember the look of wistful longing that would come over their faces whenever they spoke about the green hills of their birthplace.
